  4. Step 4: Bake in the oven for 15 minutes. Then pour the remaining sauce over the salmon and cook for another 5 minutes until the salmon is cooked through and glazed.
  5. Step 5: Squeeze fresh lemon juice over the salmon before serving. Serve with noodles or rice to complete your meal.

Tips & Variations

  • For extra flavor, marinate the salmon in the sauce for 15 minutes before baking.
  • Swap green beans for asparagus or broccoli for a different veggie option.
  • Add a sprinkle of sesame seeds or chopped spring onions on top before serving for a nice finish.

Storage

Store any leftover salmon and green beans in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. Reheat gently in the oven or microwave until warmed through. The dish is best enjoyed fresh but can be eaten cold in salads as well.

  • 1 garlic clove, crushed

To Serve

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven and prepare salmon: Heat the oven to 180C/160C fan/gas mark 4. If using a whole piece of salmon, cut it into four even fillets. Place a sheet of baking parchment on a baking tray and lay the salmon fillets diagonally on it.
  2. Cook the green beans: Bring a pot of water to a boil, cook the trimmed green beans for 1 minute, then drain and set aside.
  3. Arrange green beans and lemon wedges: Place the cooked green beans in small piles around the salmon fillets on the baking tray. Add the lemon wedges to the tray as well.

  5. Bake the salmon and beans: Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.
  6. Add remaining sauce and continue cooking: Remove the tray carefully, pour the remaining teriyaki sauce over the salmon fillets, and return to the oven. Cook for an additional 5 minutes, or until the salmon is cooked through and flakes easily.
  7. Finish and serve: Squeeze the lemon wedges over the salmon and serve immediately with noodles or rice of your choice.

Notes

  • Using low-salt soy sauce helps to control sodium content for a healthier dish.
  • Mirin adds a subtle sweetness and depth; if unavailable, a mixture of sugar and rice vinegar can be a substitute.
  • Cooking green beans briefly in boiling water retains their crunch and color.
  • Adjust cooking time slightly if fillets are thicker or thinner to avoid overcooking or undercooking the salmon.
  • Leftover teriyaki sauce can be used as a drizzle or dip for extra flavor.
