Quick and Easy 5-Minute Donuts Recipe

  • Author: Jake
  • Total Time: 10 minutes
  • Yield: 8 donuts 1x

Description

These quick and easy 5-minute donuts are made from canned biscuits fried to golden perfection and topped with a sweet vanilla glaze. Perfect for a fast treat, they combine crispy, fluffy texture with a smooth sugary glaze that can be customized with your favorite toppings.

Ingredients

Scale

Donuts

  • 1 can Pillsbury® Biscuits
  • Vegetable Oil (as needed, for frying)

Glaze

  • 1 1/2 cups Powdered Confectioners Sugar
  • 3 tablespoons Whole Milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla Extract

Instructions

  1. Heat the oil: Add enough vegetable oil to coat the bottom of a heavy-bottom pan and heat it over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (180°C).
  2. Prepare the biscuit donuts: Open the can of Pillsbury® Biscuits and place each biscuit on a cutting board. Using a small cookie cutter or similar tool, cut out small holes in the center of each biscuit to form donut shapes.
  3. Check oil temperature: Test if the oil is hot by frying one of the cut-out donut holes; if it sizzles immediately, the oil is ready for frying.
  4. Fry the donuts: Carefully add the biscuit donuts to the hot oil and fry for 2 minutes on one side until golden brown. Then flip and fry for another 2 minutes on the other side until cooked through and golden.
  5. Make the glaze: In a bowl, mix the powdered sugar, whole milk, and vanilla extract together until a smooth glaze forms. Adjust thickness by adding more sugar to thicken or milk to thin as desired.
  6. Glaze and serve: Dip or drizzle the warm donuts with the vanilla glaze. Optionally, top with chocolate, cinnamon sugar, or other favorite toppings. Serve immediately and enjoy your quick homemade donuts!

Notes

  • Ensure the oil is hot enough before frying to avoid greasy donuts.
  • Use a heavy-bottomed pan for even heat distribution during frying.
  • Customize the glaze with different extracts or add food coloring for fun variations.
  • Be cautious when frying to prevent oil splatters and burns.
  • Donuts are best enjoyed fresh and warm.
