Delicious pull-apart meatball sliders featuring tender beef meatballs nestled in soft bread rolls, topped with flavorful tomato sauce, melted mozzarella, and a buttery oregano parmesan crust. Perfect for sharing as a crowd-pleasing appetizer or a fun main dish.
Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 12 beef meatballs
- 12 small bread rolls (preferably baked together so they remain attached)
- 100g tomato pasta sauce
- 100g grated mozzarella
- 50g butter, melted
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 20g grated parmesan
Instructions
- Cook the Meatballs: Heat the olive oil in a large pan over medium heat. Fry the beef meatballs for 8-10 minutes, turning occasionally, until they are browned on all sides and cooked through. Once done, remove from the pan and set them aside.
- Prepare the Oven and Rolls: Preheat your oven to 180°C (160°C fan) or gas mark 4. Carefully slice the batch of bread rolls horizontally through the middle, making sure the rolls stay attached at the sides.
- Assemble the Sliders: Place the bottom halves of the connected rolls into a roasting tin lined with scrunched-up baking parchment or foil. Spread the tomato pasta sauce evenly over the bottom rolls. Place one cooked meatball on each roll section, then sprinkle the grated mozzarella over the meatballs.
- Top and Season: Cover the assembled sliders with the top halves of the rolls, pressing down gently to maintain their attachment. Brush the entire surface generously with melted butter, then sprinkle dried oregano and grated parmesan evenly over the top.
- Bake to Perfection: Cover the roasting tin with foil and bake in the preheated oven for 20 minutes. Remove the foil and bake uncovered for an additional 5 minutes to allow the tops to turn golden and slightly crispy.
- Serve: Remove from the oven and let the sliders cool slightly before pulling them apart and serving warm. Enjoy as a shareable snack or meal!
Notes
- Using rolls baked together helps keep the sliders intact and easy to pull apart.
- Feel free to substitute beef meatballs with chicken or vegetarian meatballs for a different variation.
- You can prepare these sliders ahead of time up to assembly and refrigerate, then bake just before serving.
- For extra flavor, add a dash of garlic powder or fresh basil to the sauce.
- Use a good quality mozzarella to ensure it melts well and adds creaminess.
