  • 1 3/4 teaspoons Instant Dry Yeast
  • 2 tablespoons Granulated Sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Olive Oil
  • 3 cups All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tablespoon Salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit (190 degrees Celsius) to ensure it’s ready for baking the hot pockets.
  2. Prepare the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the diced ham, chopped yellow onion, chopped red bell pepper, shredded cheddar cheese, and tomato sauce. Mix everything well and set aside.
  3. Activate the Yeast: In a large bowl, stir together the water, granulated sugar, and instant dry yeast for about 2 minutes until the yeast is foamy, indicating it is active.
  4. Make the Dough: Add the olive oil, all-purpose flour, and salt into the yeast mixture. Mix and then knead the dough on a floured surface until it becomes smooth and elastic.
  5. Divide and Shape the Dough: Shape the dough into a sausage form and cut it into 6 even pieces. Roll each piece out into a flat circular shape.
  6. Fill and Seal the Pockets: Place a generous portion of the pizza filling on one half of each dough circle. Fold the dough over and pinch the edges tightly to seal. Use a skewer to poke a few steam vents on the side of each pocket.
