  • Author: Jake
  • Total Time: 15 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x
  • Diet: Vegetarian

Description

A quick and easy one-pan pasta recipe that combines linguine, cherry tomatoes, red onion, garlic, and fresh basil cooked together in a single pot. This minimalist dish is perfect for a flavorful weeknight dinner with minimal cleanup, finished off with a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese.

Ingredients

Scale

Produce

  • 12 ounce Cherry Tomatoes
  • 1 Red Onion
  • 4 cloves Garlic
  • 2 sprigs Fresh Basil

Pasta & Grains

  • 12 ounce Linguine

Pantry

  • 2 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon Ground Black Pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon Crushed Red Pepper Flakes
  • 4 1/2 cups Water
  • 2 tablespoons Extra-Virgin Olive Oil

Cheese

  • Grated Parmesan Cheese to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: Place the linguine, cherry tomatoes, diced red onion, sea salt, ground black pepper, minced garlic, crushed red pepper flakes, extra-virgin olive oil, and fresh basil sprigs together in a large pot.
  2. Add Water and Boil: Pour in 4 1/2 cups of water over the ingredients and bring the mixture to a boil over medium-high heat.
  3. Cook the Pasta: Once boiling, let it cook for 9 minutes. Occasionally use tongs to lift and toss the pasta to prevent it from sticking to the pot bottom. Then turn off the heat.
  4. Thicken Sauce: Quickly toss the contents a few times so the remaining liquid thickens naturally into a light sauce coating the pasta and vegetables.
  5. Serve and Garnish: Serve the pasta topped with grated Parmesan cheese and any additional fresh basil leaves. Optionally, pair with a fresh salad or garlic bread for a complete meal. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Be sure to stir occasionally during cooking to avoid sticking and ensure even cooking of pasta.
  • Adjust crushed red pepper flakes according to your spice preference.
  • This recipe works well with any long pasta shapes like spaghetti or fettuccine, just adjust cooking time accordingly.
  • Use fresh basil leaves for the best aromatic flavor.
  • Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
