Garlic Butter Recipe

  • Author: Jake
  • Total Time: 7 minutes
  • Yield: Approximately 120g garlic butter (enough to serve 4-6 people as a spread) 1x

Description

This simple and flavorful garlic butter recipe combines softened butter with crushed garlic and fresh parsley, perfect for spreading on dough balls, making garlic bread, or enhancing pizzas and flatbreads. Easy to prepare and versatile, it adds a rich, buttery garlic punch to any dish.

Ingredients

Scale

Ingredients

  • 100g butter, softened
  • 1 garlic clove, crushed
  • 2 tsp finely chopped parsley (optional)
  • Salt, to taste (only if using unsalted butter)
  • Black pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Combine Ingredients: In a small bowl, stir together the softened butter, crushed garlic, and finely chopped parsley if using. Mix thoroughly to ensure an even distribution of flavors.
  2. Season: Add a little salt only if your butter is unsalted, and season with black pepper to taste. Adjust seasoning as preferred.
  3. Warm if Needed: If the butter is too cold and hard to mix, gently warm the ingredients in a small pan over low heat until melted and combined. Then, allow the mixture to cool down to room temperature before use.
  4. Store Properly: Transfer the garlic butter into a clean container and refrigerate. It will keep fresh for up to one week.
  5. Use: Brush garlic butter on dough balls, spread inside sliced baguette to make garlic bread, or spread over cooked pizza bases or flatbreads for added flavor.

Notes

  • Use unsalted butter to control the saltiness, or adjust added salt accordingly.
  • Fresh garlic provides the best flavor; adjust garlic quantity to suit your taste.
  • Parsley is optional but adds a fresh, herbal note and color.
  • Store garlic butter in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
  • For longer storage, garlic butter can be frozen in portions for up to 3 months.
  • Do not leave garlic butter at room temperature for extended periods to avoid spoilage.
  • Prep Time: 5 minutes
