Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon Olive Oil
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 5 fresh Tomatoes, chopped
- 2 tablespoons Fresh Basil, chopped
- 1 tablespoon Honey
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1/4 teaspoon Freshly Ground Black Pepper
- 3 sprigs Fresh Parsley, with stems and leaves
Instructions
- Heat the Olive Oil: Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat. Once hot, add the minced garlic cloves and sauté for about 2 minutes until fragrant and slightly golden.
- Add the Tomatoes and Simmer: Add the chopped tomatoes to the pan and stir well. Let the mixture simmer uncovered for about 25 minutes, stirring often, until the sauce thickens slightly.
- Add Herbs and Seasonings: Stir in 2 tablespoons of fresh basil, 1 tablespoon of honey, 1/2 teaspoon of salt, 1/4 teaspoon of freshly ground black pepper, and 3 sprigs of fresh parsley with stems and leaves intact. Continue simmering the sauce for another 10 minutes to meld the flavors.
- Remove Parsley Sprigs: Use a fork to carefully remove the parsley sprigs from the sauce, ensuring only the flavor remains.
- Serve or Puree: You can serve the sauce as-is for a chunky texture or puree it in a food processor or blender for a smoother consistency ideal for dipping. Enjoy your fresh tomato marinara!
